The BADER CUP 2012 – 1st Regional Final Results in…! Market Rasen, Darlington & Pike Hill

The Regional Finals for the prestigious BADER CUP, a mixed Greensome Stableford Competition, are being played and we’ve just received the first 3 results from Market Rasen Golf Club in Lincolnshire, which was played on the 30th July, Darlington Golf Club in Durham, played on the 31st July and Pike Hill Golf Club in York which followed swiftly on the 1st August.

Many congratulations to the winners: Miss M Willerton and Mr. I Elsome (Normanby Hall) who won at Market Rasen with 42 points, Julie Armitage and Neil Raine (Boldon) who won at Darlington also with 42 points and Helen Jacques and Tony Shrivell (Lightcliffe) who won at Pike Hills with 44 points.

The 3 winning couples will go on to play at the Grand Finals in Portugal, which will take place between the 4th – 8th November. They will fly there on Monarch Airlines and enjoy the wonderful facilities of the Tivoli Lagos Hotel while they’re not battling it out on the beautiful Lagos and Praia Courses at Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort. Definitely worth winning for! Details of the other results will be published as we receive them so keep checking in to see who will be joining them there.

Our congratulations and thanks to all who took part and to all participating Golf Clubs. Each year The BADER CUP raises a considerable amount to help the Douglas Bader Foundation to continue its valuable work on behalf of amputees and other disabled and, without you, that wouldn’t be possible. We hope that those of you who didn’t win this time will come back and have another go next year.

Very grateful thanks as always to our loyal and generous sponsors; Monarch Airlines, the Tivoli Lagos Hotel and the Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort. Also to John Southwick, who founded the competition in 1987 and has been running it ever since. He, ably assisted by his partner, Pat, has worked tirelessly and The BADER CUP is now firmly established in the golfers’ calendar as Europe’s largest, national mixed golf tournament.

You’re special to us you know! So we thought you’d like a more personal service for more specific advice or maybe to make a 1-2-1 contact with another amputee.
