The BADER CUP 2012 – More Regional Final Results: Newbury & Crookham

We have received more Regional Finals results from the prestigious Bader Cup.

The latest are from Newbury & Crookham Golf Club where the Finals were played on the 13th August when a very close competition was won by Jane Brackenbury & Stuart King playing for The West Berkshire. Many congratulations to them. The top 3 couples all finished on 43 points with second and third places being decided by B9 and B6 points.

The final scores were:

Winners: Jane Brackenbury & Stuart King (The West Berkshire): 43 points (B9 – 23)

Runners up: Lindsey Williams & Nick Cullum (Ealing): 43 points (B9 – 22) (B6 – 15)

3rd: Anna Greenwood & Rob Pannell (Aldwickbury Park): 43 points (B9 – 22) (B6 – 14)

Congratulations to all on a close run thing. We hope that those of you who came so close but didn’t quite make it this time will be back to try again next year.

Every year the BADER CUP raises considerable funds for the Douglas Bader Foundation to help us to continue our valuable work on behalf of amputees and other disabled and we are deeply grateful to all the competitors, the participating Golf Clubs, our generous sponsors and tireless organisers, John Southwick and his partner, Pat. Without you all, there would be no Bader Cup.

Introduction

The Douglas Bader Foundation is a charity organisation, formed in honour of Sir Douglas Bader in 1982 by family and friends, many of whom had flown side by side with Douglas during World War 2. Douglas was honoured in 1976 with a Knighthood for his contribution and work on behalf of the disabled. The Bader Cup Golf Tournament

THE BADER CUP was started in 1987, and is now widely recognised as the largest National Mixed Greensome Stableford Golf Tournament in Europe.

John Southwick founded the Tournament to raise funds for The Douglas Bader Foundation. He still organises the competition.
