The BADER CUP 2012 – Some more Regional Final Results: Birchwood Golf Club

The Regional Finals Results of the prestigious BADER CUP are still under way and we’ve just received the results from the Regional Finals at Birchwood Golf Club in Cheshire, played on the 20th August.

Again it was a close finish with the winner being decided by B9 points but in the end Milly Eaton and Chris Payne playing for Skipton Golf Club prevailed. Many congratulations to them and to the runners up, Helen Wells and Jonathan Wells, playing for Mold who ran them a close second, and to all others who took part. We hope that those of you who didn’t win this time will be back to try again next year.

The final results were as follows:

Winners: Milly Eaton & Chris Payne (Skipton): 37 points (B9 – 21)

Runners up: Helen Wells & Jonathan Well (Mold): 37 points (B9 – 14)

Milly Eaton and Chris Payne will join the other winning couples in the Algarve for the Grand Final between the 4th – 8th November. It’s worth mentioning that Milly Eaton is the younger sister of Lucy Eaton, who won her regional finals 2 years ago and went on to Portugal to play in the Grand Final. Sadly she didn’t win but perhaps Milly can go one better this year! Certainly a family of talented golfers.

The BADER CUP, now recognised to be the largest National Mixed Greensome Stableford golf competition, annually raises a considerable amount for the Douglas Bader Foundation. This contribution is greatly appreciated and helps the charity to continue its valuable work on behalf of amputees and other disabled. We are indebted to all the competitors, the participating Golf Clubs, our generous sponsors, Monarch Airlines, The Tivoli Lagos Hotel and the Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort, not to mention, of course, the organisers, John Southwick and his partner, Pat. Without you all, the BADER CUP and its valuable contribution to the charity wouldn’t happen.

You’re special to us you know! So we thought you’d like a more personal service for more specific advice or maybe to make a 1-2-1 contact with another amputee.
