The BADER CUP 2012 – Slightly belated Regional Finals Results from Newton Abbot

The last Regional Finals of the prestigious BADER CUP, the largest National Mixed Greensome Stableford Golf Tournament in Europe, have been played and results of the 2 last competitions will be published later today. However, before we get to them, here are the results of the Regional Final played at Newton Abbot (Stover) Golf Club in Devon on 16th August. I apologise for the delay in publishing these, I was away on holiday and I’m afraid they slipped through the e-net! I’m very sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment caused by this delay.

Newton Abbot was another close contest with all the 3 top-scoring couples getting 39 points and the final winners decided on countback. This gave Michelle Fenge and Andrew Fenge playing for Libbaton victory over Kerry Shaw and John Shaw (Parkstone), and Karen Allsop and Tony Allsopp (Tiverton). Many congratulations to all 6 on an exciting contest. Michelle and Andrew will go on to play for the Bader Cup in Portugal in November and we sincerely hope that Kerry and John and Karen and Tony will return next year to try again.

Here are the results:

Winners: Michell Fenge & Andrew Fenge (Libbaton): 39 points (B9 – 20)

Runners up: Kerry Shaw & John Shaw (Parkstone): 39 points (B9 – 19)

3rd: Karen Allsopp & Tony Allsopp (Tiverton): 39 points (B9 – 17)

Every year the BADER CUP raises a considerable amount for the Douglas Bader Foundation and we are extremely grateful to all the competitors, the participating Golf Clubs, our generous sponsors, Monarch Airlines, the Tivoli Lagos Hotel and the Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort for your part in raising these valuable funds to help us to continue our work on behalf of amputees and other disabled. Thanks also, of course, always to John Southwick and his partner, Pat, for organising the tournament and running it so efficiently.

You can see all the results with downloadable results in full on the Regional Finals Results Page.

You’re special to us you know! So we thought you’d like a more personal service for more specific advice or maybe to make a 1-2-1 contact with another amputee.
